Each month, OhioMeansJobs (OMJ) Allen County recognizes one outstanding high school student as its Student Employee of the Month. For December 2025, we are proud to highlight Tatum Miller, whose dedication to patient care, professionalism, and commitment to her future in healthcare make her an exceptional representative of our region’s future workforce.
Tatum is a senior at Lima Central Catholic (LCC) and works at Mercy Health St. Rita’s Medical Center as a Patient Care Technician (PCT). In her role as a float tech, Tatum provides care across several floors, supporting a wide range of patients with diverse medical needs. Her responsibilities include assisting patients with daily tasks, monitoring vital signs, and ensuring that each person receives compassionate, attentive care.
Tatum’s ability to adapt to different units and patient populations demonstrates maturity, strong clinical awareness, and an impressive work ethic, qualities that make her stand out among her peers. Whether she’s helping a patient feel comfortable, assisting nurses with essential tasks, or supporting families during difficult moments, Tatum’s calm and caring presence makes a meaningful difference.
Her experience at St. Rita’s has strengthened her desire to work in the medical field, and after graduation, Tatum plans to pursue a career in nursing. With her drive, compassion, and hands-on experience already in place, there’s no doubt she will continue to thrive in healthcare and positively impact the lives of countless patients.
